SETTING THE SEQUENCE OF APPLICATION OF CROSSING BARS, IMPLEMENTED BY BALL PENS, WITH PLASTIC

The procedure for obtaining bulk copies of the studied lines on the plasticine:
A piece of plasticine about 3 cm in size is kneaded in the hands to give it increased plasticity. It is desirable to use clay in light tones.

As shown by experiments, this contributes to a better visual perception of three-dimensional images.

To obtain qualitative copies of intersecting strokes, it is necessary that the contact side of the plasticine has an even smooth surface.

This is achieved by pressing plasticine to a clean mirror surface.

Then a piece of plasticine with a smooth surface is superimposed on the examined section of the document. The force of pressing and the time of contact depend on a number of factors.

It has been experimentally established that when the intersecting strokes are applied with weak pressure (slight deformation of the paper is observed), the strength and contact time should be increased. With a well-marked relief, they can be smaller. Namely: when the pressure is weak, the contact time is about 3 to 5 seconds, with a deep relief of the strokes, a touch of plasticine is easy enough to the area under investigation for 1 second.

Before embarking on research, it is advisable to carry out an experiment in any section of the document, the results of which will help to choose the right contact time and the force of pressure.

It is established that the relief of the studied strokes is copied much better if the document is on a solid substrate. This is especially important when the intersecting strokes are applied with weak pressure.

The results of the experiments show that when obtaining qualitative volumetric copies, the following should be taken into account. First, clay should be less plastic, for which it is placed for 5 to 10 minutes. In the fridge. Secondly, the impression properties of plasticine are improved if its contact surface is blown for 3-5 seconds. Warm air (for example, own breathing).

The study of relief mapping of strokes on plasticine gives an opportunity to answer the question of the sequence of their application. Observation is conducted in a misaligned light. It is convenient to use a stereoscopic binocular microscope for this purpose.

The magnification on the microscope should not exceed 16x, so that the boundaries of the intersection of the strokes were sufficiently visible.

In some cases, it is advisable to examine volumetric copies of strokes on plasticine using a 4-fold magnifier with diffuse illumination. Such preliminary research allows to judge quality of the received copies.

The only reliable sign indicating that the stroke is located on top is the absence of a gap at the point of its intersection with another stroke. At the same time, the underlying stroke at the intersection is represented as a split overlying one.

The results of the microscopic examination are recorded by photography. As an illumination source, it is convenient to use the OI-18 illuminator.

The magnification is then set in the range from 4х to 16х, and the slope of the illuminator is from -10 ° to 45 °.
